OUR HISTORY

Since the group’s inception in 1972, the Allied Committee for the Trucking Industry (ACT 1) has established goodwill within the industry’s premier-based industry associations. The members of ACT 1 are elite and leading supplier companies to the transportation industry. Our objective is to serve and support, as well as to attain increased awareness and exposure to North American motor carriers – both private and for-hire. Today, the 27 member companies – representing over $270 billion in revenue – remain steadfast in their dedication to promote the entire industry.

Associations’ members to whom we send our messages include: American Trucking Associations, Truckload Carriers Association (national, refrigerated), National Private Truck Council, National Tank Truck Carriers, and the Technology & Maintenance Council.

ACT 1 meets three times annually to review objectives-strategies as well as identify key opportunities and regularly analyze our group’s exposure at every single association gathering. For these industry meetings, the group collaborates with the management and administrators to assure maximum exposure for the group and member companies through signage, ads, speaker programs, and repeated recognition to the members. Pooling member companies’ monies allows maximum exposure before the industry’s key constituencies.
